God is our Creator. We did not create ourselves. Unfortunately, many have allowed Satan to blindfold them to this amazing truth, living in denial and for themselves as though they are the creators of their own little world.
This is the most critical foundational truth in the Bible because living the mindset above has a profound implication that leaves an individual separated from Christ, having no hope, and without God in the world (Eph. 2:12). It’s not a good place to be. When you open the Bible, the very first sentence you will read is:’In the beginning, God created the heaven and the earth’. Gen. 1:1, and if you read further, it will take you through the amazing account of the entire creation. Humanity came from God. He said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness. And let them have dominion over the fish of the sea and over the birds of the heavens and over the livestock and over all the earth and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth’ Gen.1:26. Nothing came from nothing. Even if you think that man came from chimpanzees, where did chimpanzees come from then? Isaiah said, ‘’Do you not know? Have you not heard? The LORD is the everlasting God, the Creator of the ends of the earth. He will not grow tired or weary, and his understanding no one can fathom” Is. 40:28. Just ‘in six days the LORD made the heavens and the earth, the sea, and all that is in them (Exo.20:1). God’s existence and the entire creation may be too hard to put our head around, but that is what makes Him God. Our understanding, time, space, or matter do not limit God.
Therefore, this is a gentle reminder that God is our Creator, and as such, He alone deserves our worship and the first place in our lives. He created us to have a relationship and enjoy His blessing and eternity. Unfortunately, sin came in and separated us from Him, and all humanity became spiritually dead in trespasses. We lost the fellowship, so God feels so distant to us and no longer senses His presence. As a result of the loss of fellowship, we have concentrated too much on things like money, fame, work, pleasure, etc., and allowed them to take the place of God in our hearts, thereby becoming gods to us. Jesus came to set us free from sin and bondage. He accomplished this when he laid down his life on the cross, where his blood was shed to pay the penalty for our sins. Now, through him, we can receive forgiveness from God, be re-united to God, and enter into His blessing of eternal life, which He has promised to those who come to Him through Jesus Christ. Would you like to begin a relationship with God? Why don’t you repent of your sin and turn your life over to Jesus by saying the prayer below:
‘O God, I believe Jesus died on the cross so that I could be forgiven; I believe he rose from the death. I’m sorry for the things I have done wrong in my life. Please forgive me. Therefore, I open my heart to receive him as my Lord and Saviour.’
